Many Singaporean
are overseas - studying, working or in-between. I think the Internet
and E-mail have been a boon to them in communicating with their
families. While the Government has decided to fund a non-Government
non-profit organisation - the Singapore International Foundation
(SIF) to remind Singaporeans
of their roots (and it is a good thing), Singaporeans overseas
are also attempting to do the same. We understand that there are
over 70 Singapore Clubs around the world; and not counting the
cyber clubs started by Singaporeans in their universities or colleges
or workplace.
We have tried to scour the Web (in
our own limited and parochial way) to bring you some of these
links so that Singaporeans overseas may subscribe to them or make
contacts with your fellow citizens, either through the official
channel or the unofficial channel. If you do have the URL of those
not listed here, please inform
us. Whatever your do, always remember - the mee rebus, chicken
rice and the roti parta can only be savoured in their glory back
in good old Singapore! Have fun, make your pile but visit often!
